What We Do at Our Initial Consultation

The initial consultation is a critical step in starting your custom home project. This meeting allows us to understand your vision, needs, and expectations while providing you with insights into our tailored client pre-design process. Here’s what you can expect during our initial consultation:

1. Understanding Your Vision and Project Details

Detailed Discussion: We begin by sitting down with you to discuss your project in detail. This includes understanding your lifestyle, preferences, and specific needs for your new home. We will ask questions about:

  • Design Preferences: What styles do you like? Are there specific architectural elements or materials you prefer?

  • Functional Requirements: How many bedrooms and bathrooms do you need? Do you require a home office, gym, or special-purpose rooms?

  • Future Plans: Are you planning to expand your family or host large gatherings? Understanding your long-term plans helps us design a home that evolves with you.

2. Explaining Our Tailored Client Pre-Design Process

Customized Approach: Our pre-design process is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. During the consultation, we will walk you through the following steps:

  • Initial Site Evaluation: We discuss the location and any initial assessments that may be needed, such as soil testing or topographic surveys.

  • Feasibility Study: We explain how we evaluate the practicality of your project concerning cost, site conditions, and regulatory requirements. This includes a preliminary budget estimate and design sketches.

  • Design Brief Development: Together, we create a detailed design brief that captures all your requirements and specifications, ensuring that every aspect of your vision is documented and understood.

  • Preliminary Design and Concept Development: We discuss how we will develop initial design concepts based on your feedback, including rough sketches, floor plans, and 3D renderings.

  • Budget Planning: We outline the steps involved in establishing a realistic budget, including detailed cost estimations for construction, materials, and labor.

3. Next Steps and Expectations

Clear Path Forward: At the end of the consultation, we will provide you with a clear understanding of the next steps in the process. This includes:

  • Preliminary Estimate: We will provide a preliminary ballpark estimate to give you an idea of the potential costs. If you agree with this estimate, you will sign off on it and pay $850 for us to perform a detailed itemized estimate.

  • Itemized Estimate: This thorough estimate outlines all materials and labor required for your project. It will be based on a completed set of plans, but we can start with a general idea of the home type and total square footage.

  • Scheduling a Follow-Up Meeting: If you decide to move forward, we will schedule a follow-up meeting to refine details and begin the detailed design and planning phases.
